Gentle mask to brighten and soften skin

Here is a recipe for a face mask which is so gentle it can be used on a daily basis. All of the ingredients in this mask have been used in skincare for centuries and continue to bring beneficial results to even on the most sensitive of skins (like my own!)

Oatmeal is a natural skin moistener which relieves ichyness caused by dry skin.
Plain yogurt has a very calming effect on the skin, as it cools and soothes irritations. It also contains lactic acid, which assists with anti-aging.
Honey gently exfoliates, unclogs pores and is full of antioxidants, which helps skin stay fresh and glowing. In addition, honey has anti-bacterial properties, which makes it a great choice to treat breakouts.
Lavender is a natural aseptic and has countless other healing properties, making it an excellent choice for most skin types. Lavender also smells divine and is extremely relaxing, making it a wonderful addition in a face mask!

Ingredients needed:
1 tablespoon dried oatmeal
1 ½ teaspoons plain yogurt
1 teaspoon honey
½ teaspoon dried lavender
3 drops lavender essential oil

What to do:
Step 1: Mix dried oatmeal and dried lavender in small bowl.
Step 2: Add honey and plain yogurt to the oatmeal and lavender mixture.
Step 3: Finish with a few drops of lavender essential oil, then mix all ingredients together.
Step 4: Apply the mixture onto your skin, generously covering your face and neck. You can use a facial brush or do what I prefer: Apply with fingers! Rub the mask in circular motion, as the dried lavender and oatmeal will gentle exfoliate the skin.
Step 5: Leave mask on for 10-15 minutes, as it seeps into the skin and become dry. Take this time to do something relaxing! Listen to music, read, whatever you like to do. Take this time for you :)
Step 6: Wash the mask off with warm water. Your face should feel soft and refreshed.

If any of the mixture is left over then you can refrigerate it and use tomorrow or share it with a friend!

Sidenote: If you are allergic to any of the ingredients above then do not proceed with this tutorial.

My journey begins!

And so my journey begins as a blogger!

In a world of ticking clocks and harsh chemicals, whose many names I cannot even pronounce, it is very important to me that people have some simple choices in life. Thus, I have decided to start this blog as a place to post some of my favourite tutorials, recipes and other information which can help people embrace this philosophy, making use of beneficial herbs, oils and other natural ingredients which can ordinarily be found around the home. I really hope that others enjoy these tricks as much as I do and I truly look forward to exchanging knowledge with you all.

Lots of love,
